CyberStartup Benchmark exists to provide purely quantitative performance data on cybersecurity startups. We do not make recommendations. We do not publish opinions. We do not sell editorial placement. We measure performance across 6 KPIs and present the data.
The cybersecurity industry is full of vendor-influenced reports, pay-to-play rankings, and subjective evaluations. We believe investors, CISOs, and analysts deserve better — an independent, numbers-first resource where the data speaks for itself.

Our Team
CyberStartup Benchmark was founded in 2023 by a team of former Gartner Magic Quadrant and Forrester Wave analysts who spent years building the industry's most widely-referenced cybersecurity vendor evaluations.
After decades of experience producing analyst reports, our founders recognized a gap in the market: objective, purely quantitative benchmarking for early-stage cybersecurity companies. Traditional analyst firms focus on established vendors. We focus on startups.
Our research team includes former analysts from Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and 451 Research. Combined experience: 75+ years in cybersecurity industry analysis.

We publish KPI data, not opinions. Our rankings are computed from measurable metrics, not subjective assessments.
No Pay-to-Play
Companies cannot pay to be included, excluded, or ranked higher. Our revenue comes from institutional data subscriptions, not vendor fees.
Stage-Adjusted
We compare companies against their stage-specific peers. A seed-stage company is evaluated against seed-stage medians, not against CrowdStrike.
Transparent Methodology
Our 6 KPIs, weights, and measurement approaches are fully documented. No black boxes.
Quarterly Updates
Data is refreshed quarterly with automated collection and manual verification. We do not publish stale data.
